The CM was speaking in the debate concerning demand of grants for the departments held by him. The Assembly passed the demands by voice vote. The Opposition protested against the demands concerning General Administration, Police, Home, Science and Technology, Narmada Valley Development and Aviation departments.

Replying to the Opposition’s charges on law and order, Chouhan admitted that the Government had received reports regarding Naxalites’ entry into Sidhi district from Bihar. However, in his view, bullet was not the only answer to the problem. The problem should be tackled through ideological fight also, he added.

It was the Congress’ Ajay Singh who pointed out the Naxalites’ activities in Sidhi district in his speech earlier. He said the police and forest departments’ personnel could not dare enter certain areas in the district in uniform.

Buildings of 32 police stations and 42 police outposts were being constructed. Residential colonies would be developed for police personnel.
