Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ruled out prevalence of drought in state. Evading replies on other queries, he said state has received good rains this year. "I came to pray for the state’s development and prosperity," he said.
Chouhan who was in temple city on Monday along with his wife Sadhana Singh sang bhajans and played cymbals as he walked in the religious procession carrying palanquin of Lord Mahakal. The CM walked from Mahakal temple to Ramghat, a 1.5km road stretch, despite being ill. Doctors came in between to give him medicines. On reaching Ramghat, a special puja of the Lord was performed.
The police constables had used batons to keep kavad yatris and people at bay when chief minister took part in the religious procession on first Shravan Monday. This time, police constables stood disarmed. Chouhan reached city at 2pm from where he headed to Mahakal temple.
