Three Iranians, found in possession of cocaine worth Rs 2.5 crore, were arrested from Mumbai International airport late Tuesday night, a senior police officer said.
The Iranians were intercepted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when they were about to catch a flight to Tehran, Senior Police Inspector of Sahar CSI airport police station CK Chavan said.
The accused, identified as Iraj Saifullah Davoodnadi (40), Mohammed Raja Rajbali Ghanbali (34) and Azizullah Habibullah Kheri (34), have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and would be produced in the Andheri court.
Chavan said that the Iranians had arrived on June 16.
He said the contraband, stacked in pouches, was recovered from the false linings of their baggage.
