College buildings to be upgraded by next year

Talking to Hindustan Times, Collector Vivek Aggarwal said that the aim was to renovate college buildings by next financial year. He informed that for the renovation work 50 per cent funds would be contributed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti and like amount would be released from public participation fund, which is at the disposal of the Collector.

He added that for the current year budget of public participation fund was Rs 1.5 crore and out of this up to 40 per cent funds could be allocated for college buildings’ renovation, which means that approximately Rs 60 lakh could be contributed from public participation fund if the same amount is contributed by Jan Bhagidari Samitis.

Elaborating further, he said that whatever amount was contributed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti would be released from public participation fund.

He added that tenders for construction work would be invited by Jan Bhagidari Samiti and PWD would only extend technical support.

Collector Vivek Aggarwal, PWD executive engineer B N Nath, college principals and Jan Bhagidari Samiti chairmen were present at the meeting.
