Raising the issue through a call attention motion, Congress MLA Ajay Singh accused a State Minister of being involved in the incident and said that not only the acting principal Narendra Mishra was transferred at his behest but subsequent police action against students and villagers was also spurred by him.

He said that not only the police fired at the crowd demonstrating against Mishra’s transfer but also intruded into houses of the villagers and beat them up.

Ramlakhan Sharma of the CPM supported Singh said that Mishra was popular among students of the school and the villagers at large because during his tenure the number of students in the school had risen to 800 from 200.
