A procession led by Bajrang Dal on the eve of a meeting on Saturday was passing through a place of worship when an altercation broke out with the members of the minority community. Stones and lathis were used in the ensuing violence, they said.

What triggered the altercation could not be ascertained. The administration imposed Section 144 of CrPC (banning assembly of people) to prevent the situation from flaring up, the police said.
