Recently, the commuters from Tohana had called on railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge, under the leadership of local MP Ashok Tanwar, for including a daily halt at the Tohana railway station.
The railway minister had assured to fulfil their demand but did not pass any order to the officers in this regard.According to stationmaster Ashok Meena, the authorities had allowed a halt at Tohana till July 15 under its holiday package scheme and after that the halt had been scrapped.
A commuter Pawan Kumar said, "A large number of passengers have started availing the facility of this fast train. The railway department would generate revenue and the people would benefit from the two-minute halt of the train. We ended the dharna after 45 minutes on the request of officers of district administration but if our demand is not accepted we shall intensify the stir."
