An alleged negligence by a doctor at civil hospital in Ujjain has forced a 11-year-old boy's family to lodge a complaint with the city health authorities, said the father of the boy on Friday.
The victim's father Ajay Sher, a daily-wage earner said wrong treatment by a doctor at the hospital left his son Akash (11) running from one hospital to another for treatment.
Fed up, Sher on Friday lodged a negligence complaint with the city civil surgeon.
Sher, in his complaint to civil surgeon Dr CD Sharma, said his son, a class seven student, fractured his left arm on September 4 and was taken to the civil hospital for treatment.
Dr Mahesh Marmat, who attended to the boy, put a temporary plaster on the fractured arm, Sher said.
The doctor replaced the plaster five days later, but later, the boy developed festering boils on his arm.
After the boy’s condition worsened and his arm started bleeding, the doctor replaced the 'hard' plaster with a temporary one and referred him to the RD Gardi Hospital on Friday.
The doctors at the hospital, instead of treating the boy, further referred him to Indore's MY Hospital.
