Manoj Joshi’s article The Pakistan conundrum (September 20) is a pragmatic analysis of Indo-Pak problems. The best strategy is to live in peace with one’s neighbours, which works to everyone’s benefit. The Havana agreement, therefore, is a positive development. If we continue to be guided by the past, we will never be able to leave behind our conflicts.

Unruly Delhi traders

Apropos of the report Mass rage against sealing (September 21), it is shocking to see the obduracy of Delhi traders. Committing acts of lawlessness like pelting stones at passing vehicles, including school buses, the Delhi Metro and even police personnel on duty is unpardonable. By defying the Supreme Court verdict on decommercialisation of residential areas, the traders are twisting the facts to meet their selfish ends.

The traders have been indulging in illegal activities and harassing the residents. Their plea that they were not stopped earlier holds no water. By issuing such notifications, the government is trying to reward those indulging in illegal activities.
