BJP and Congress continue to trade charges and counter allegations on the hooch tragedy and those who are allegedly involved in making and supply of spurious liquor which killed over 130 people.
On Sunday, BJP has accused that Subhash Giri, one of the accused, is associated with Congress and he had also met Rahul Gandhi when the latter visited Baroda.
BJP leaders in Vadodara also circulated some photographs in which Subhash Giri is seen shaking hand with the scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
BJP MP of Vadodada, Balkrishna Shukla said that Giri had supplied chemicals to Jayesh Thakker, who in turn supplied it to Vinod Dagri, who mixed it with countrymade liquor.
In a press release, state BJP spokesperson I K Jadeja alleged that Congress is playing politics on the hooch tragedy. "A main accused of the hooch tragedy Subhash Giri is a Congress worker for last 10 years and he was present when Rahul Gandhi visited Vodadara in last February," Jadeja said.
It may be noted that Dagri and Thakker have already been arrested and are on remand while Giri remains absconding.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, Congress said that Giri is a BJP worker and therefore the party is shielding him.
"People of Vadodara know that Giri is a BJP worker and has also been very active during elections," said Congress spokesperson Jayantilal Parmar.
