Talking to newsmen here on Monday Dixit lashed out at the district administration for a biased approach in filing criminal charges against Congressmen.

Referring to clashes between Congress and SP workers last month at the Collectorate resulting in filing of criminal charges against Dixit and other party leaders, the District Congress Committee (DCC) president accused the district administration of turning a blind eye towards the misconduct of SP leaders.

He added the party would not take things lying down and a series of agitations would be launched in the city to expose SP before the masses. Commenting on the suspension of SSP PC Meena after the visit of DG Bua Singh and Home Secretary on Sunday, Dixit said the suspension of the SSP was not enough.

“Other officials of the district administration were responsible for the clashes including the District Magistrate and they all must be suspended too,” added Dixit.

Venting his ire on the State Government, Dixit said suspension of the SSP was not enough keeping in view the deteriorating law and situation of the city and the recent spurt in criminal activities including murder of traders. Congress leaders also demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident, which led to the clashes between party and SP workers at Collectorate last month.

On the occasion, Congress leaders also said that a party meeting would be convened on Tuesday to decide the future course of action to be taken against the State Government.

Congress leaders also demanded dismissal of the State Government with immediate effect and imposition of President’s rule in the state.
