"The Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are creating hurdles in the creation of proposed Bundelkhand Development Authority," Jain said addressing a meeting of the Congress workers in Tikamgarh on Saturday.

Jain said that in order to ensure development of the backward region, the government is thinking on the move to form the development authority which has jurisdiction over number of districts of both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

He denied allegations of both Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan that centre is doing politics on the issue.

Jain said that when there was severe drought in the Bundelkhand region, it was only Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi who visited the people of the area to understand their pain and agony while no other political party leader spared time for them.
