Cong panel discusses delimitation report

THE STATE Congress Committee organised a meeting of its state-level delimitation committee here today to study the primary report of the Delimitation Commission for the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituencies. State Congress vice-president and chairman of the delimitation committee, Radhakrishan Garg presided over the meeting.

THE STATE Congress Committee organised a meeting of its state-level delimitation committee here today to study the primary report of the Delimitation Commission for the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituencies. State Congress vice-president and chairman of the delimitation committee, Radhakrishan Garg presided over the meeting.

According to a party release, the members of the committee studied the primary report sent by the Delimitation Commission regarding delimitation of constituencies.

The committee has directed the presidents of various District Congress Committees to hold discussions with district delimitation committees, Congress candidates of the last Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections, sitting and former Members of Parliament and MLAs, block Congress presidents and senior Congressmen and then present a their respective reports.

The DCC presidents have been asked to prepare the reports keeping in mind the political repercussions of delimitation and also raise objections to the primary report of the Delimitation Commission wherever necessary.

The DCC presidents must submit their reports latest by March 25 at the State Congress office. State Congress delimitation committee’s in-charge secretary Deepchand Yadav, former MLAs Ramnarayan Tenguria, Jodharam Gurjar and lawyers J P Dhanopia and Vineet Godha were present in the meeting today.
