CWC member in-charge of the Northeast Ramesh Chennithala replied with an emphatic "no", when asked by reporters whether Sangma, who left the Congress over Congress President Sonia Gandhi's 'foreign origin' issue, would be readmitted into the party.

"I don't think he (Sangma) is a force to reckon with...I don't know which party he belongs to," he said.

"There were so many Sangmas in Meghalaya. Why should we be bothered about only one," Chennithala said in the presence of state Public Works Minister Mukul Sangma. Mukul Sangma had contested against the veteran leader in his traditional Tura seat in the last Lok Sabha elections.
