Congress slams Gujarat govt over faulty map

The Congress on Monday put the Gujarat government in a spot over the latter’s faulty map, projecting Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as disputed regions. The alleged map was circulated on Sep 17 at the signing of a memorandum with China during President Xi Jinping’s visit.

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the Gujarat government map showed Aksai Chin as part of China while the two border states—Arunachal Pradesh and J&K—were shown in dotted lines, as if there is a territorial dispute.

"This is a very serious matter. The goof-up took place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Singhvi said.

The Congress also used this opportunity to hit out at Modi: "Before the elections, Moditalked about not letting the country down. I would now ask him to walk the talk," he said.
