While addressing a function held in Jammu National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana said a conspiracy was being hatched to erode the special identity of the state. He said a deliberate attempt was being made to vitiate the political atmosphere ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

He said the enemies of people of Jammu and Kashmir, both within and outside, have joined hands to harm state's unique position.

Rana condemned the immaturity of Narendra Modi, who described J&K as a beggar state.

"It is an insult to the people of this state. Central assistance is the right of every state and not a courtesy, as even Gujarat receives funds allocated by the Planning Commission of India as part of share to each state," he said.

He said the party would emerge winners in the ensuing elections in all three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

"Those dreaming of bagging 46 and 47 seats can't manage even this number of contestants during the next elections," he said.
