Cops ban demonstrations around Election Commission

The Opposition is set to stage a demonstration around the Election Commission to push home its demand for electoral reforms.

A day before a major opposition rally, Bangladesh on Tuesday banned all kinds of demonstrations around the Election Commission.

The 19-hour ban would come into effect from 1 am Wednesday, police said.

The move comes amid fears of deterioration in law and order situation due the programme of the political parties.
