Cops broke my elbow, Goa rape victim says

The 14-year-old German girl who was allegedly raped by Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate’s son, Rohit Monserrate, has now accused the Goa Police of physically abuse her, resulting in a broken elbow.

The 14-year-old German girl who was allegedly raped by Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate’s son, Rohit Monserrate, has now accused the Goa Police of physically abuse her, resulting in a broken elbow.

She alleged that the police had put her under virtual house arrest as she had “refused to do what the police wanted her to”. In an email interview, the victim said the police treated her merciless. “At one time, when I did not want to go with the police, they pulled me so hard, that one officer broke my elbow, and I had a lot of bruises on my arms,” she said.

In October last year, the victim’s mother had filed a complaint against Rohit alleging that he had sexually abused the minor girl and had send her lewd text messages.

To a question whether she would like to come back to Goa, she said: “I have been living in Goa all my life and really miss everything about it...”
