The procession has started from July 16.

The police have written a letter to a senior NHAI official to provide facilities of barricading and lighting from the Kherki Daula toll plaza to Kapriwas Border on National Highway-8. The letter was sent on July 14.

“We have taken this step to prevent accidents on the highway. At times, such incidents turn violent and cause law and order problems. To avoid any untoward incidents, we have asked NHAI to arrange a separate pathway for kanwariyas on the left side of the road,” said a senior traffic police official.

NHAI has been asked to make arrangements for barricading the area.

Proper marking and lighting arrangements of this pathway may also be done, said a official.
