A GROUP of policemen brutally assaulted four women members of a bank officer’s family in the city, causing serious injuries to them in Vikas Nagar on Wednesday night. Two of them were reportedly in coma. Their fault: objecting to parking of vehicles outside their house.
Though the local police visited the spot, they were yet to register a case till late night. The injured were undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Nandlal Chandani, posted with the Hazratganj branch of the State Bank of India and a resident of 423, Shekhupura Colony, was on his way to drop his brother Mahesh at Charbagh railway station in the night when he received a frantic phone call urging him to rush home immediately.
Chandani reached home to find his 82-year-old mother Devi and wife Komal (35) lying unconscious. His sisters Hemlata (34) and Bharti (24) were bleeding profusely. They were rushed to the Bhaurao Deoras Hospital, Mahanagar.
It was revealed later that Chandani’s neighbour Nandkishore Yadav and his brother Mahipal, a PAC constable, had barged into the complainant’s house in the night. The brother duo was accompanied by two S-Is in police uniform. The group of intruders assaulted the women brutally and left the house issuing life threats.
Chandani said that Nandkishore, who runs about half-a-dozen maxi cabs, used to park the vehicles outside his house in the night. Today, when the women objected to the parking, they were assaulted. Chandani was also beaten up by Nandkishore earlier.
