Counting of votes polled in 81 constituencies of Jharkhand will be held on Tuesday with hope for the BJP as exit polls have predicted a clear win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party in the state.
The counting process will begin at 8am at 24 counting centres amid tight security. “All arrangements for the counting day have been completed. The counting will begin from 8am and trends are expected to come within an hour,” chief electoral officer of Jharkhand, PK Jajoria, said.
The updated 66.47% voter turnout in the 2014 polls was a record for both Lok Sabha and assembly elections held in the state since it was carved out of Bihar on November 15, 2000.
This election will give the state, which has been dogged by political uncertainty since its birth its 10th government in 14 years. Chief minister Hemant Soren and former chief ministers Arjun Munda, Madhu Koda and Babulal Marandi are among the 1,136 candidates whose fates will be known as the votes are counted.

{{/usCountry}}“Jharkhand’s development sun will rise on Tuesday as the BJP is going to form the new government under the able leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” former assembly speaker and BJP candidate from Ranchi, Chandreshwar Prasad Singh, said.
BJP contested on 72 seats and left eight seats for it alliance partner AJSU Party and one for Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).
Spokesperson of the JMM — the main regional contender — Supriyo Bhattacharya, however, expressed confidence that the results would go in his party’s favour.
“Tuesday morning will be bright and the day will be brighter for the people of Jharkhand as they have blessed the party to form the next government,” he said.
Meanwhile, despite having been written off by most exit polls, hope still floats in the Congress camp. “It will be Congress’ day tomorrow (Tuesday), as it will emerge as the single largest party in the state,” candidate from Bermo seat, Rajendra Prasad Singh, said.
