Trial in the 2008 Thane theatre blast will soon begin as the Sewree sessions court on Saturday framed charges against the six accused in the case.

All the six have been accused of conducting blasts in auditoriums in Thane, Vashi and a cinema theatre in Panvel.

The court today accepted the charges submitted by the prosecution, which has charged the six accused for criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder and under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code, unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosives Act, Explosive Substances Act and the Arms Act.

The six accused in the case are Ramesh Gadkari, Mangesh Nikam, Vikram Bhave, Santosh Angre, Haribhau divekar and Hemant Chalke. Bhave and Gadkari are allegedly members of Hindu right wing groups -- Sanathan Sanstha and Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.

Additional Sessions Judge V B Kamkhedkar framed the charges against the six accused and a procedural signature was taken from the accused.

All the six accused pleaded not guilty to the charges framed against them and said that they all have been falsely implicated.
