A court in Jodhpur, hearing the case of illegal possession of weapons by filmstar Salman Khan, on Friday reserved till June 26 its order on an application by the prosecution seeking to produce more documents.
Challenging the prosecution, Salman's counsel HM Saraswat argued there was no logic for placing new documents on record at this stage as it was an 8-year old case and the court has already recorded the 15 of 16 witnesses.
The case pertains to the killing of two blackbucks in Kankani village of Jodhpur district on the night of October 1, 1998, while Salman was shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Terming the move as malafide, he further argued the prosecution neither disclosed the reason why these documents were not produced in court at the time of filing of the Challan nor gave any reason for the late submission.
Sarswat said that application was liable to be dismissed as it was against the law, conscience of the Constitution and rights of defence of an accused.
In his response, Public Prosecutor NK Sankhla said these documents are already on record in the Kankani poaching case and the defence has copies of all these documents.

{{/usCountry}}After the arguments of both sides, Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit fixed June 26 for procuring his order on the application.
Salman has been convicted in two cases of chinkara and blackbuck poaching in Jodhpur district in September-October 1998 during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Two more cases pertaining to the hunting of endangered deer in Kankani village are pending against him.
