CPI(M) leader Sadek Sheikh was gunned down by miscreants at Canning area of West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Saturday night, police sources said.
Sheikh was returning home from the market in a rickshaw when four-five miscreants surrounded his rickshaw and fired at him from close range, sources said.

A large police force has rushed to the area, sources added.
