"Our MPs will not resign," party General Secretary Prakash Karat said shortly after Gandhi announced her decision.

Asked for his reaction on Gandhi's resignation, he said the party will issue a statement later.

Karat, whose party is a crucial supporting ally of the ruling UPA, said the Government will not bring any ordinance on the issue of office of profit and that Parliament would decide the matter.
