CPM to contest 2 seats in R'sthan

Ruling out any alliance or seat adjustment in Rajasthan with Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced it would contest two Lok Sabha seats in the desert state.

Ruling out any alliance or seat adjustment in Rajasthan with Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has announced it would contest two Lok Sabha seats in the desert state.

"CPI(M) will contest Sikar and Ganganagar (SC) seats where it has considerable infuence," state secretary of the party vasudev told reporters here.

While sitting CPI(M) member of assembly Amraram would be the party candidate from Sikar, state vice-president of Students Federation of India Sheopat Ram Meghwal will be party nominee from Ganganagar, he said.

* Stating there had been no alliance or seat adjustment with Congress in the desert state and also no morcha of secular parties had been set up, Vasudev said the aim of the party was to defeat the BJP in Lok Sabha elections and have sizeable representation of left in the Parliament.
