This new art exhibition, Art Like This, attempts to bring brings avant-garde art, installations and furniture designs together under one roof. The USP? Take objects that have little use, like old jars, motor tyres and milk cans, and turn them into trendy furniture.

The show is a collaboration between three young art, lifestyle and design talents- Aradhana Nagpal (of craft store Dhoop), interior designer Ishitta Arun (D se Dijhaeen) and art promoter Dolka Denzapa (North East Ventures). Says Ishitta Arun, “The show was the brainchild of Dolka Denzapa. She wanted to promote arts and craft from Northeast India. She is friends with Aradhna, while Aradhna and I know each other from a previous project. We all collaborated and got cracking on this project.”

So what can one find at this show? Says Ishita, “We have taken boring everyday stuff and turned it on its head. We have used ordinary things like bicycle chains, broken pieces of mirror and motorbike parts to make high-end, funky furniture.” She adds, “Dolka’s North East Ventures also brings Indian contemporary artist Karma Tenrab down to the city for the first time. So you can say that Art Like This, is hot like that.”
