Credit growth to be brisk in coming months: FM

Finance Minister says that the productive sectors of the economy should not be denied credit.

Credit growth is likely to be brisk in coming months and banks should rebalance their portfolios, Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Monday.

"I have asked banks to rebalance their portfolios," Chidambaram told a banking conference.

"We must ensure the productive sectors of the economy are not denied credit."
