Officials said on Thursday that all the three jewellers were taken to Delhi in their van but failed to inform the Civil Lines police of Sonepat in this connection.

However, some eye-witnesses say that the officials of the Delhi Crime Branch were accompanied by two youths who were arrested in this connection in Delhi and they have informed the police that they had sold the gold to the three jewellers in Sonepat.

But the jewellers denied the charge levelled against them.

Police sources also said that some armed miscreants had looted the gold and cash worth about Rs 70 lakh on pistol point from a jeweller in the Rohini area of Delhi recently.
