The MACTA Federation, the apex body of 19 trade unions in Malayalam film industry, is facing a split with the Directors Union, formally announcing their decision to come out of the organisation after conciliatory talks failed, on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters here today, S Vijayan, General Secretary, IFEC, said that both IFEC and FEFSI are fully supporting the Vinayan led MACTA Federation.

Pointing out that there was no chance for a parallel organisation, Vijayan said 'we will not cooperate with the films to be made by the Directors, who parted ways with the MACTA Federation'.

Vijayan said no worker will associate with the films to be made by "the breakaway group of Directors."

There is no ban against actor Dileep or any other artists, he said, adding the issue involving director Thulasidas and actor Dileep was under the control of the Federation.

To sort out the issue, the MACTA federation held a meeting here on wedensday last and it was decided not to cooperate with the actor and to boycott him.
