Dead, injured farmers will receive no compensation

The district administration has said no compensation will be paid to the farmers, who were either killed or injured in Saturday's clash.

The district administration has said no compensation will be paid to the farmers, who were either killed or injured in Saturday's clash.

Additional District Magistrate OP Arya said, "As of now, the administration is not contemplating any compensation to injured farmers dead or injured. They waged war against the state. They allowed criminals to take over the agitation."

He added, "They gathered illegal arms which they used to fire at police teams in which district magistrate Deepak Aggarwal was injured.

SSP SN Singh too was injured in stone-pelting resorted to by the farmers."

Medical services sent after 2 days
Two days after clashes at Bhatta left four dead led to subsequent arson and violence, the administration finally sent in fire and medical services on Tuesday to the epicentre of the ongoing farmer agitation.

Chief medical officer Vijay Deepak Verma sad, "Today, we sent a team of three doctors to Bhatta-Parsaul along with two ambulances. The team went to each lane and tried to know if any injured person needed medical attention. Nine persons, who were not injured but were sick, were looked after."
