Death for 2 in Jyoti Arora murder case

The son of a Delhi Police Sub-inspector and a constable have been awarded the death sentence for killing a pregnant girl about two years ago.

The son of a Delhi Police Sub-inspector and a constable were sentenced to death on Saturday by a local court in Muzaffarnagar for killing a pregnant girl about two years ago.

District Judge RD Nimesh, who convicted them on Friday for killing Jyoti Arora, awarded capital punishment to Sandeep, son of the SI, Virendra Singh Nagar, and constable Sashi Bhusan, observing that, "it was a rarest of rare case".

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on each convict. It directed a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the parents of Arora.

Altogether 10 witnesses were examined in the case. According to prosecution, Arora, who was working in a mobile phone phone company in Delhi, was killed by Sandeep on November 17, 2004. Bhusan helped him to commit the crime.
