Defence deals to be more transparent: Antony

He also said the Centre was committed to ensure that there was no lapse in safeguarding the security of the nation.

Defence Minister AK Antony on Thursday said the government will take steps to make defence deals more transparent.

Talking to newspersons at the Indira Bhavan, the headquarters of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), Antony said the Centre was committed to ensure that there was no lapse in safeguarding the security of the nation.

Constant vigil would be maintained on issues relating to national security, he said.

Antony, who was visiting his home state for the first time after being assigned the sensitive portfolio, also said he would pay attention to the development of Kerala.
