However, two of the three cars carrying police personnel, was initially "detained" by Jharkhand police due to a communication gap.

Additional SP Sudhir Kumar Jha said after it was known that the arrested man Rajvir Singh had been wanted by the Delhi police under Sections 302 and 365 of IPC, the two cars were allowed to leave.

Jha said, quoting information available tonight, that the eight-member Delhi police team, led by Inspector B Dutt had been camping in the steel city for the last six days in search of Singh and finally apprehended him on Saturday.

However as police personnel in civil dress were taking Singh in a car in full public view, a rumour spread about his being abducted, and a crowd suspecting something amiss intercepted two other cars which were trailing behind.

As the local police "detained" the two cars, with three persons on board, the occupants identified themselves as members of Delhi Police team and gave details about Singh's arrest and cases pending against him in the national capital.

Other members of the Delhi Police team, led by Inspector Dutt, meanwhile took away Singh in the first vehicle on way to Delhi, Jha said.
