The early morning dense fog affected about 50 north-bound trains. However, no diversion or cancellation of flights was reported.

This season, the city had recorded its lowest minimum temperature at 4.2 degrees Celsius on December 22.

The MeT office has predicted mainly clear skies during the day with the maximum temperature at around 17 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.

"Visibility was recorded as 700 metres at 8:30am and the humidity recorded was 100%," a MeT official said.

The official added that authorities also had to reschedule the departure timings of few trains.

On Friday, the minimum temperature settled two notches below normal at 6.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius.
