A government school teacher was arrested in central Delhi on Wednesday, allegedly with fake currency having a face value of Rs 20 lakh.

The 35-year-old teacher, hailing from western Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Ajmeri Gate locality by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).

The fake currency, of the denomination of Rs 500, was meant to be floated in Indian market and came from Pakistan, DRI sources said.
DRI have seized fake currency having a face value of Rs 1.2 crore from Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai in the last two months.
