Two labourers were injured in the incident.

An altercation between MCG officials and owners of the wine and beer shop is said to have lead to the stone-pelting incident.

Following the orders of deputy commissioner PC Meena, the drive was conducted jointly by the district town planning (enforcement) and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).

“We reached the site with the team and questioned the owner of the wine and beer shop. Within minutes, a large number of people gathered at the spot. Though we were accompanied by police personnel, we tried to move away from the site. However, some people started pelting stones at us,” said Kalyan Singh Sandhu, JE, DTP (enforcement).

“My colleague Sanjog Sharma, JE, MCG, had a narrow escape.”

A case has been filed against unidentified persons under Sections 332, 353 and 186, IPC.
