Wife and daughter of senior deputy mayor of Amritsar were killed when the car in which they were sitting fell into a gorge at Dalhousie in Himachal Pardesh.

The family members of deputy mayor Ajaybir Singh Randhawa confirmed the death of his wife Mandeep Kaur and daughter Anhad (7) at the hill station.

They said that the incident happened when Randhwa came out of his car at a site along with his son to take some photographs while his wife and daughter were still sitting in the it.

However, he forgot to apply the hand brake of the car as a result of which the vehicle all of a sudden started moving towards the gorge and fell into it.

Mandeep and Anhad died on the spot, however, Randhawa and his son are reportedly safe.
