Members of the Morcha condemned the attitude of the Central and State Governments and demanded that these remaining 20 wards be declared gas-affected with immediate effect and the arrears of the compensation be paid to the residents of these wards.

Morcha spokesperson Kapuri Chouhan lashed out at the Centre and the State Government saying both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were using gas relief as a tool for gaining political mileage.

Morcha convener Shailendra Pradhan said he would present a memorandum to the State Minister for Gas Relief Babulal Gaur reminding him of his promise to get these wards declared as gas hit. He said politicising the issue and doing vote-bank politics over it would never help in delivering justice to the gas tragedy victims.
