The release will be followed by a panel discussion on the book. Panelists will be former Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill, eminent author and columnist B G Verghese, IGNOU professor A S Narang and author-columnist Humra Quraishi.

Published by the Penguin Books India, the book traces history of Sikh militancy. Since the author had been DGP of Punjab in its most tumultuous period (from July 3, 1984 to August 22, 1985), his experiences provide authentic insight to the content. He witnessed the drama firsthand and analysed its historical causes.

K S Dhillon, who was also BU Vice- Chancellor, says that the book is still relevant today though it is over a decade since terrorism ended in Punjab. “With the passage of time, it becomes easier to put the events in proper historical perspective.”
