The honorary Lieutenant Colonel of Territorial Army, Dhoni was scheduled to visit the glacier on June 06, the last day of his visit to the state, but could only land in Kargil for half an hour.

“He was supposed to go to Siachen but weather has played spoilsport. The glacier’s weather is known for its flip-flop,” said a senior army official.

On Kargil helipad, the Captain of Indian Cricket Team was received by Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier Shami Raj. “He laid wreath at Kargil War Memorial and presented homage to the martyrs,” said an official of Kargil administration. “He also interacted with the Army Jawans and some villagers of Border Village Kaksar ,” the official said.
