Denying that the state government was "dragging its feet" in graft case against union Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said on Thursday that law will take its own course in the case.
"The government is not dragging its feet on the issue, but is proceeding according to legal procedure on the basis of facts," Dhumal told reporters in his assembly chamber.
The CM was reacting to allegations of former HP minister Vijay Singh Mankotia, who had released audio CD on the basis of which an FIR was registered against Singh and his wife.
Singh said that the government was moving slowly in the case despite having "clinching" evidences and said, "The pace of any case depends on progress of the investigation on the basis of evidence," he said.
Dhumal repeated that his government would not work with vengeance, but would not spare anybody irrespective of his political might, if any evidence of corruption is found.
