Diageo, the world's leading premium drinks company, on Saturday launched its flagship rum brand Captain Morgan at Club Saffire in Gurgaon.

Diageo has been busy upping its presence in India since last year's tie-up with local spirits group Radico Khaitan to develop Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) brands.

The inauguration was graced by "Captain Morgan" himself, who flew in for the occasion from Jamaica.

Dressed as a pirate and carrying a huge chest he entertained the crowd while the bar served the spiced gold rum.

Stretching well into the night, an open only to invitation party was attended by a host of party-goers from across the capital city. In-house DJs rocked the crowd and later the floor was set on fire by DJ Nasha, who made sure he had everyone dancing to his beats.

"This is the second brand that Diageo has launched at Saffire, and we believe that it is great promotion for the brand as well as our club" said Vikram Bhatia, Managing Director, Saffire.

Saffire experience stretches over three floors, comprising a lounge bar, an Indian restaurant named Terracotta, and a roof-top joint Saffire Under The Stars.
