Diamonds in demand for safe deposits too

LOVE FOR diamond jewellery is on the rise. For moneyed class especially women, diamonds are more of an asset then anything to boast of these days. Its re-sale value also acts as a motivating factor for many of them. Dr Ravi Kapoor, director of Kays Jewels Private Ltd, said, ?People prefer branded or certified diamond sets which give a rich class appearance. Its re-sale value also attracts many to diamond jewelleries. Younger generation is getting more and more inclined towards diamond jewellery. Dr Kapoor said price was also an important factor while gold prices were fluctuating on a regular basis, the diamond prices remained almost same.

Instead of investing money on gold jewellery, people are now getting inclined towards diamond jewellery.

Anjana Gupta, director of OTM Diamond Jewellery Exhibition, which is being held in Hotel Landmark, said the Kanpurites were too fond of diamonds. She recalled there was a time when people came to exchange brand new gold jewelleries for diamond jewelleries. She also echoed the fact that due to its lightweight, attractive designs and good re-sale value, people loved to purchase diamond jewelleries these days. “People are visiting in large number to the exhibition because the exhibition is giving 20 per cent discount on diamond jewelleries,” he said

Agreeing with the Alka, Abhilasha Yadav, a college student said diamonds looked pretty good on every one be it fair or dark skin it gives a special look. “Diamonds are forever. There is no need to polish. Its shine will always be the same,” she added.
