FORMER CHIEF Minister Digvijay Singh on Tuesday sought to set at rest speculations about a proposal to join the Union cabinet, saying he had not received any such proposal. If such proposal, he said, comes his way, he would prefer to work for the party organisation instead.
The Congress general secretary was taking to media persons during mass contact programme at his hometown Raghogarh, 45 km from Guna this morning.
Replying to a question about delay in entrusting organisation responsibility to Rahul Gandhi, he said Rahul himself felt the need for more experience before he took up any responsibility despite his being active in the field.
On selection of the party candidates for Vidisha Lok Sabha and Bada Malhera assembly seats, he said the party would complete the selection process before October 13.
On Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s advising him to participate in the Sangh’s programmes to know more about the working and activities of RSS, Singh said he did not need the CM’s advice.
The former CM said, it was not right to give advice without anyone asking for it. On the Kaunyakalan case, Singh said he had demanded a CID probe into the incident and was awaiting the State Government decision on it.
He said the Congress favoured an economic policy wherein fulfillment of basic needs like health and education get priority.
