IN THE meeting held to review targets achieved under government’s key welfare schemes at collectorate today, the public representatives were informed about key developments taking place in the district.

District Collector Vivek Aggarwal said that 60 government schools would be opened in the City, as an equal number of schools were closed down under rationalisation scheme last year.

He informed that sites have been selected for the schools after ward-wise survey. Rural Engineering Services will build primary and middle school buildings while Indore Municipal Corporation will construct high school structures.

In another development, District Women and Child Development Department has shortlisted 11 self-help groups in the district that will prepare and supply mid-day meals at anganvadis from tomorrow. They will serve variety of dishes along with daliya.

Then, there are plans to introduce mobile clinics in rural areas under district health plan. They will be parked at village fairs and other public places.

It was informed that 20,000 condoms have been sold so far through 29 condom vending machines installed at public places. The users can have one by inserting a five-rupee coin.
