Speaking to reporters, Karunanidhi said: "DMK is a democratic party and we cannot decide individually. The party’s high-level committee would chalk out the next cours of action.”

Karunanidhi also said the alliance with the Congress is strong and the arrest of Kanimozhi would not affect it.

A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in New Delhi on Friday turned down Kanimozhi's bail plea and the Rajya Sabha member was later taken into custody.

Asked for his response, Karunanidhi said he was in the same state of mind as those whose close family members are arrested.

He denied he was going to New Delhi on Saturday and said the next course of action in the case will be taken consulting legal experts.

Along with Kanimozhi, the CBI court also denied bail to Sharad Kumar.
