Officials of Delhi University and several of its colleges have advised aspirants to take admissions in courses they have got through in the first cut-off list itself.
“Aspirants who have made it through to DU should take admissions now. There is no point waiting for a second list as you never know how many seats get filled,” said Rajendra Prasad, principal, Ramjas College.
Experts believe it is best to secure a seat in a course after the first list is released, even if you haven’t made it to a college of your choice. A college of your choice, they say, may not be available even after another list is out.
“There is no reason to miss out on the first list. Taking a risk is not advisable. Students can easily migrate to the college of their choice if they manage to make it in the second list. No fee is charged for this,” said a senior DU official. According to DU rules, a college has to return the original certificates of students who want to withdraw their admissions in 24 hours. The fees are also refunded in a week's time.
Admissions under the first list will start on Tuesday itself and will go on till June 28. All students who make the cut-off will be given.
