In the wake of the Election Commission (EC) refusing to grant more time to 19 Congress MLAs and an MP to file their replies on notices issued by it, DPCC has on Thursday convened a meeting of the legislators in question, sources said.

Members of the party's legal cell have also been asked to attend the meeting, to be chaired by DPCC chief Rambabu Sharma, they said.

Rejecting the plea by 19 Congress MLAs and MP Sajjan Kumar for six weeks time to submit their replies, the EC has asked them to send in their response by June 21.

In a letter to the legislators dated June 9, the Commission has also made it clear that no further extension of time would be granted to them under any circumstance.
