The drive would continue throughout January for inspection of fair price shops, stores, lead institutions and stores of Marketing/Civil Supplies Corporation.

Minister for Cooperatives, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Gopal Bhargava appealed to consumers, social, cooperative and political organisations to actively cooperate in the drive. The Minister urged the people to lodge written complaints about any irregularities and get the complaints duly acknowledged, said an official release.

Bhargava said the consumers might lodge complaints with him too. The complaints may be addressed to his bungalow B-4, Civil Lines, Professors Colony, Bhopal or on telephone numbers 0755-2441156 and 2661271.

The complaints can be made to the officers inspecting the fair price shops as well as the officers of cooperatives department, Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, district administration and food inspectors.

A copy of the complaints may be sent to the Minister and Commissioner, Food at his office in Vindhayachal Bhawan, Bhopal or on his telephone No. 0755-2551479 and fax No. 5275746 and the Registrar, Cooperative Societies on phone No 0755-2551513 and fax No, 2551134.

The phone No. of Controller, Weights and Measurement is 0755-2551017 and his fax No. is 2551020, the release added. It may be mentioned here that in cases of black marketing there is a provision of imprisonment of three to seven years and confiscation of the vehicles and other equipment being run on blue kerosene.
